gato feliz

Hello, I wanted to take this opportunity to talk about my business, gato feliz media. You may be wondering why I choose the name, gato feliz media. It has to do with the fact that the internet is for cats. I don’t think there are many in the internet zeitgeist that would dispute this fact. But mostly, the name was derived by my experiences in life. I will explain.

A few years ago, I had never “lived” with a cat. Now, I co-habit with two of these unique creatures. Growing up, my family and I never had cats. In fact, my family was mostly hostile to the idea of caring for a cat. We had cared for and lived with many types of animals over the years ranging from iguanas, turtles, chameleons, cockatiels, hamsters, snakes, fish (both freshwater and salt), dogs, anoles, etc., but never a cat.

I grew into adulthood and adopted a pug by way of a good friend. This was my first adult animal caregiving experience, meaning, this animal and I were now co-dependent roommates.  This little pug came into my life at a time when I needed her more than anything. She really saved my life and I am indebted to her. It was during this time that I met my wife to be, who co-habited with two cats.

A few years before I met my wife, I was the co-founder of a small business in Denver, Colorado. This was an idea that had been stirring about in my head for several years and I had met a group of people that I felt were prime to brainstorm this business. We would bring a boutique experience to our clients and offer expert training and advice. While we were defiantly an Apple product support business, we always attempted to offer the best multimedia advice and began producing commissioned work by way of branding, book design, and videography. We also repaired and maintained Macs of all shapes and sizes as this was a popular service.

Soon after my wife and I were married, she was offered and took a job in Southern California with California State University. My clients, friends, and colleagues immediately asked – “What will happen with The MacSpa?” I knew that this business would be fine in the capable hands of my business partner. It was with this confidence and my chance at hitting the “life” reset button, that my wife and I packed up the two cats and made our way out west to Cali-4-NI-A to settle in Redlands.

Once settled, several of my wife’s colleagues asked me what I would for work out here. The more I spoke about my former life and the former business that I was a part, the more I missed the fulfilling work I did at The MacSpa and truly helping people. After taking a short video consultation job at Cal State, San Bernardino, I decided to embark on my next venture: a Mac consultation business where I could focus on my love of time based story telling via video.

My former business partner asked me once, “Where do you want to be in the FUTURE?” To that I answered, “I need to be around film and video in any shape or fashion.” Now that I have opened gato feliz media, I am proud to say that I am around this environment. I also love the fact that I am so close to Hollywood and that I now see many films as a unique representation of a place called California.

I still love helping people learn their devices which is why I still plan on being a Macintosh, iPhone, and iPad consultant. There is so much to learn when it comes to these devices and I have gleaned much joy from using my iPhone and iPad as content creation devices for photography, video, and music. Even at The MacSpa, we offered workshops on using these devices at various film festivals (Festivus, Laugh Track, Voices International Film Festival) and even science fiction festivals like Starfest in Denver.

I hope this helps explain a bit more about why I am here and why gato feliz media exists. Please contact me today to learn about getting the most our of your Mac, iPhone, and iPad or to talk about the videography services offered. Taking a cue from The MacSpa, I have even included the home visit as part of the business offerings. I hope to hear from you soon! Miguel
